Welcome!

My name is Tony Perkins, and I am a game designer in training. To those who are visiting here for the first time, thank you for taking the time to come and view my work. As you may or may not know, CS14Productions is the collection of work and portfolio pieces that I have been working on during my career here at DePaul University. It includes not only class work, but also work I have done on my own time and taken my own initiative to learn to do. With that in mind, I am readily open for critiques, advice or other words of wisdom from anyone who feels they have something to share. My contact information is available under the 'Contact Me' link on the left navigation, feel free to email me or message me anything at all.

A short background on myself; As I said, my name is Tony Perkins, and I am a game designer in training. I am currently 21 years old and attending DePaul University in the city of Chicago, IL. I plan to graduate in the Spring of 2010 with a major in Computer Game Development, concentrating in Design and Production, and a minor in Computer Science. In the year of 2008 I worked 7 months as a game design intern at Midway Amusement Games on a new, unannounced IP. Unfortunately, I was let go with a large portion of the Chicago Studio in late 2008 when the project I was working on was canceled along with many others at the studio due to situations within Midway.

Fortunately, I was able to learn many priceless skills from the many talented people that I worked with, along with an even further understanding of the UnReal 3 editor and tools. I have done level design for the games UnReal 2k4, UnReal 3 and Gears of War, all of which use a version of the UnReal editor, the later two specifically in UnReal 3. I am also currently working on a mod for UnReal Tournament 3 named Toon Doom. Toon Doom is a multiplayer racing platformer in which you compete with the level and other individuals to claim the ancient artifact 'EraZor' from the top of a mountain before returning it to the base of the mountain, all to earn the favor of your creator, 'AniMaTor'. It has a unique 'cartoonish' art style and feel which sets it apart from the normal batch of UnReal mods.

Other projects I have involved myself with are many small photoshop tasks, from creating banners and website layouts to PlayStation 2 covers and banners. I have a basic working knowledge of Maya and have created models using it which can be viewed in the left navigation. I have also created and currently run and moderate a text based role playing forum (named Ninja Academy, viewable on the left navigation) which goes beyond just the role play aspects and integrates a series of rules to govern the leveling, combat, and interaction of the players, all in a way that is simple enough to keep track of by hand. In addition, I have worked on smaller game projects including a platformer named 'Tralos' that was started and finished in a small three man team in early 2007 within the window of about 4 weeks.

If you would like to contact me, as I said above, contact information can be found within my resume as well as within the 'Contact Me' link to the left. Otherwise, please enjoy what I have on here and thank you again for viewing my work.
